Grayce & Kole

Grayce & Kole have been adopted!

Special needs girl Grayce (black & white) and her boyfriend Kole (black) are looking for their forever home. Read down below about Grayce’s special story, and further down for more about Kole!

Grayce is very shy but loves the laser pointer and is such a cuddle bug once comfortable. Kole is a chill guy who is down for playing or just hanging out. When Kole met Grayce it was love at first sight! They are the best behaved pair and would love a quiet home all to themselves, no young kids or other pets.

Ages: 4 (Grayce) and 3 (Kole) as of June 2023

Grayce is a living miracle – she was born with multiple conditions she wasn't expected to live past a few months. She is doing amazing and requires no extra medical care at this time but she may in the future. Grayce’s conditions:

  • Congenital Defects

  • Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex

  • Rotary Nystagmus (circular eye movement)

  • Abnormal Pupillary Responses (which is typically caused by a form of brain disease - cerebellar is suspected)

  • FHV

Can you provide Grayce and Kole the loving home they deserve?

Grayce’s History

Baby Grayce was born to an abandoned young mother out in the county in West Lafayette, IN. This tiny kitten was only half the size of her siblings and didn't open her eyes until she was 19 days old. The kind Samaritan that found Grayce, reached out to multiple rescue organizations, all of which denied her services.

Once LPAC received photos of her poor condition and a very brief story, they scrambled to make room for her. While they did not know the severity of her health state, they soon found out. Grayce, only 13 weeks old in August of 2019, suffered from a large, ruptured abscess on the side of her tiny little face. The infection entered her bloodstream causing her to become quite ill and close to death. Grayce received all the medical attention needed to save her life at that time, but she continued having moments of weakening & would quickly decline; requiring her to receive on-going medical attention.

As time went on, they realized that she wasn't growing, she was slow cognitively, her eyes were almost always dilated and her physical appearance resembled an unhealthy senior cat. Grayce has received countless antibiotics, steroids, special diets, subcutaneous fluid therapy, she has been warmed for low body temp and iced for high fevers, fecal tests, and countless blood tests; including pituitary dwarfism, which came back with insufficient components making the test negative, and of course, hospitalizations. This precious little girl has been diagnosed with & suffers from Congenital Defects, Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex and Feline Herpesvirus. She has a compromised immunity and sporadic relapses that cause upper respiratory flare-ups and skin lesions that are fast progressing.

Grayce, now almost 2 as of February 2021, is still the size of a 4/5 month old kitten. She has occasional moments of play, but often functions as a senior kitty. She continues to have URI flare-ups and sudden skin lesions, both of which require medical treatment to overcome. LPAC, with agreement from Grayce's veterinarian, has deemed her non-adoptable and a life-long resident. Grayce would be very hard to place in a home, not only because of her extensive health issues, but she has never completely socialized and fears humans outside of her caretakers & veterinarian. Please consider donating to sweet Grayce's medical fund or sending her a healing gift. Every single donation means the world to us and to Grayce.

Kole’s History

On Tuesday, September 15th 2020, an adorable 17ish week old feral kitten joined LPAC (Kole!). Due to the condition of his eye, he was not released after his neuter surgery recovery. Instead, he’s learned that “one” human isn’t so bad (he didn’t have much choice). We feared he would lose his eye and our Founder, Teresa have worked around the clock healing him - from the inside out. He had an immense fear of others but Teresa gained his friendship. She spent hours saving his now gorgeous eye. This pretty boy deserves a wonderful home with his girlfriend, Grayce!
